KpH Deconstruction Work with East Surrey College on Career Development

KpH Deconstruction have been attending Career Open Days at East Surrey College with very positive results.

Our Supply Chain Operations Manager, Steve Peterson, and Labour Coordinator, Bradley Potter, have given several presentations so far to students (studying for Construction based qualifications); as part of the College’s initiative to introduce potential employers and provide a deeper insight into career paths within the industry.

Strip Out and Enabling, a specialist service provided by KpH Deconstruction (as an industry leading Contractor), requires a skill-set not generally taught to Construction industry students, and it is not well publicised in the industry. We would like to change that.

By continuing to attend regular Job Fairs and Career Days, we intend to increase awareness of our trade; encourage the next generation to join the industry; and provide more opportunities for graduates to learn the techniques and skills directly from us (by way of Work Placements and Apprenticeship Schemes).

As 2020 approaches, we will be looking to build a long-term relationship with East Surrey College; with a view to designing a Career Development Plan with them for those students who have taken interest in learning the Strip Out and Enabling trade. At the same time, we also hope to encourage more women to pursue a career “on the tools” by proving to them that modern site environments welcome, and are compatible with, all genders.

We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress.
