Record £2235 Raised for SCT Sleep Out 2019
We are proud to announce that KpH Group raised an impressive £2,234.94 for Spitalfields Crypt Trust’s 2019 Sleep Out on Friday 18th October 2019. The event took place on the steps of Christ Church, Shoreditch, which 3 of our Managers took part in.
Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) are a charity based in East London, who run a residential recovery service, personal development and training services for people in recovery, alongside several social enterprises. SCT help rehabilitate people with complex drug and alcohol addictions and do so by helping people get clean and sober, develop self-respect and have hope for a better future.
The purpose of the Sleep Out was for everyone to come together and experience a small taste of the difficulties many people sleeping rough must deal with.
Our volunteers Lyndsey West, Andrew Mackie and Marilla King-Smith were joined by Jay and Dada, ex-students of the Spitalfields Crypt Trust, who talked openly about their recovery through addiction and how SCT have been fundamental in turning their lives around.
The charity raised an impressive £7000 and had a total of 30 volunteers taking part. The money will go back into the services the charity provides, such as; the homeless drop in centre, residential rehab, learning and development, helping recovering addicts back into education and employment.
KpH raised funds by holding a charity bake sale at their head office, in which staff kindly baked a number of delicious goodies. We also held a series of table tennis tournaments at our site, 155 Bishopsgate, this not only gave our labourers some lunchtime fun but helped contribute towards our donations.
We would like to say thanks to everyone who donated including Rhino Waste Services, Bob Terry Haulage, DSM Recruitment, T&S Environmental, Lees Industrial Services Ltd, Reachout Recruit and to Lyndsey West, Andrew Mackie and Marilla King-Smith for taking part in the Sleep Out.
